And nationally, another example (you've probably seen 'em out on the interstate): a trucking company called Yellow paints their cabs orange, with orange details on their trailers (lorries).
In Northern Virginia there's a "Yellow Cab" company whose fleet is actually orange.
As Penske and Ryder already use canary yellow for their fleet, and as Orange is a registered trademark, perhaps a yellowish-orange makes Yellow more distinctive in the yellow-saturated transport market.

 History
During the Second World War (1940-1945) almost 600,000 three-axle 2½ ton army trucks were built by the Yellow Truck and Coach Manufacturing Company (Pontiac, Michigan, USA), a branch of the General Motors Corporation (GMC).
The only adjustments made were the installation of a new tipper body (brand Netam) and replacement of the original open cab by a so-called Dutch cabine.
Until the 1970's CCKW's were not only used by many army's but also cherished by construction companies, breakdown and towing services, fire brigades, showmen and fair companies, and circusses.

The next 155,000 to 173,000 trucks (references are rarely univocal) also had a closed cab but their doors could no longer be locked.
On cargo trucks a so-called Set No 7 could be mounted: a simple monorail with a pulley block to hoist cargo along the whole lenght of the body (Figure 4).
The apparent number of trucks is therefore larger than the actual number.
