College General again played host to the persecuted and exiled seminarians when the Communist persecution in Manchuria and China in the late 1940's and 1950's forced many young seminarians to flee their country.
Many of them were not able to return to their homeland after their studies and they chose to serve in Malaysia, Singapore and other parts of the Chinese Diaspora as far as Vancouver, Canada.
