COGENT has been used by a number of researchers to develop models in the domains of memory, reasoning, decision making, problem solving, the performance of complex tasks, and concept combination.
The model was developed using COGENT, an object-oriented modelling environment designed to simplify and clarify the implementation process by minimising the `distance' between the box/arrow `language' of psychological theorising and the theory's implementation.

Techworld.com - ISP battle leaves thousands with reduced Net use
Cogent argues it is at least as big as Level 3, which would ordinarily be enough reason for the two ISPs to maintain a peering arrangement.
Cogent contends the move is a strong-arm tactic by Level 3 to force Cogent to pay for its transit arrangements, and ultimately to raise its prices for bandwidth.
Cogent doesn't want to pay for transit - and if it does agree to pay transit fees, there is a possibility that its other peers may start asking for them too.

PCWorld.com - ISP Spat Severs Connections
Cogent chief executive officer Dave Schaeffer disputes Level 3's characterization and says the dropped peering arrangement is really Level 3's attempt at playing hardball with a rival that has been undercutting it on pricing.
For them, the dispute between Cogent and Level 3 is an annoyance but not a major problem; they can rely on their other vendors to route traffic across Cogent and Level 3's networks.
Cogent has left its connections to Level 3 turned on, he says; should Level 3 decide to resume its connection with Cogent, traffic would once again start flowing between the two networks.
