The Village of Cohocton is in the southeast part of the Town of Cohocton, and is northwest of Bath, NY.
The village was once known as "Liberty," but changed it name to Cohocton when it was incorporated as a village in 1891.
In the village the population was spread out with 30.7% under the age of 18, 7.5% from 18 to 24, 27.8% from 25 to 44, 20.7% from 45 to 64, and 13.3% who were 65 years of age or older.

The Village of Avoca is located in the eastern part of the town, northwest of Bath, New York.
New York State Route 415 passes north-to-south through the village, and County Road 8 enters the northeast part of the village.
In the village the population was spread out with 32.2% under the age of 18, 5.4% from 18 to 24, 25.8% from 25 to 44, 22.4% from 45 to 64, and 14.2% who were 65 years of age or older.

ALBANY, New York- As the traditional April 1 opening day of trout season quickly approaches, New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Commissioner Erin M. Crotty is encouraging Empire State trout anglers to be ready for a great year of fishing.
The open season for trout in most New York State waters runs from April 1 through October 15, but there are exceptions in all DEC regions, so anglers should check the Fishing Regulations Guide prior to heading out on the water.
Four new fishing parking areas have been developed in the region; three on Catskill Creek and one on the upper West Branch of the Delaware River.

The octagonal form had been used in public buildings in the past, but now as a concept for domestic architecture, it had a dedicated and convincing champion.
Fowler's books, stressing the functional and stylistic advantages of the octagon house, found many readers and several hundred followers who sprinkled the landscape from New England to Wisconsin with eight-sided houses, barns, churches, schoolhouses, carriage houses, garden houses, smokehouses and privies.
