		This idea is also like the Gauss gun which uses 2 magnets, a stationary one, and a round one, and when you place a round where the stationary one is, and have a rail for the ball to go on, it can launch (if w/ good magnets) at fairly high speeds, not practical just cool.
		In mass-lock guns the part that does the reloading (slide/lock) is also the part that absorbs a significant amount of the recoil against its own mass and a reloading spring.

		Most coil guns, have a projectile placed just outside the coil, when the coil is enegised, the projectile it strongly attracted to the centre of the coil, but the pulse has stopped by the time it gets there, so it just goes through the coil, and out the other end.

		I can only assume you want a hollow coil, with a nail just outside of it, so that when you discharge your cap through the coil, the nail is pulled into the coil and thrown out the other side.

		I've used this gun for about 80sq with little problems, the occasional proud nail or the nail coil gets bent in my tool bag causeing a jam are about it.
		I too have used this gun on Hardiplank siding (as someone else mentioned), i must admit though it is not as consistent on cement board as it is on shingles.
