Nenah Cherry - Music Downloads - Online
Raised by her mother and her trumpeter stepfather in both Stockholm and New York City, Cherry dropped out of school at age 14, and in 1980 she relocated to London to sing with the punk group the Cherries.
When the band broke up, Cherry remained with one of the spin-off groups, Float Up CP, and led them through one album, 1986's Kill Me in the Morning.
The band proved short-lived, however, and Cherry began rapping in a London club, where she earned the attention of a talent scout who signed her to a solo contract.

Cold (band) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
With the release of its self-titled debut, Cold, in 1998, the band quickly became known for its angsty lyrics and the singer's distinctive voice.
The band, initially based in Jacksonville, moved to Atlanta hoping to get a break in the industry while Matt Loughran left the band and was replaced by Sean Lay.
Produced by Elvis Baskette and slated to be released in December 2004, Cold suffered another blow with the loss of their third guitarist in almost a year; Eddie Rendini was fired from the band for undisclosed reasons.

Following Cold's progress in the Jacksonville scene was local Fred Durst, impressed by what he had heard, he invited Scooter Ward to lay down two acoustic tracks, "Check Please" and "Ugly".
The stalemate between the two led to frustrations within the band, and in late 2003 Terry Balsamo departed, replacing Ben Moody in Evanescence, replaced by ex-Darwin's Waiting Room axe-man Eddie Randini, and by spring-2004, Kelly Hayes' frustrations got the better of him and left for local band Allele, replaced by ex-Grundig member Matt Loughran.
By September 2004 the band was picked up by Atlantic Records after rumours a deal had been struck with Lava Records and with both new guitarists began recording the new album, tenatively titled And a Sad Song Lives On, was due for a December 2004 release, produced by Elvis Baskette.

His ties to the band are long and tight, but times were especially rough for him during much of this period -- rough enough that he began to seek a kind of connection that even his friends couldn't offer.
On their first two albums, Cold (1998) and 13 Ways to Bleed Onstage (2000), their dark songs were slashed by deadly hooks and driven by body-punch beats, with lyrics whose passionate despair was broad enough to draw massive fan support.
The band began recording on July 9 at Bay 7 in Studio City; progress was so swift that within four days Sam McCandless had finished cutting the drum tracks.

Although their styles are fairly different, Cold30’s songs are similar to Dave Matthews Band’s in the respect that one would envision, if the band gets signed one day, that their shows will be full of college students holding their arms around each other and waving their cigarette lighters or cell phones in a dark stadium.
