		Cold Chisel produced the canonical example of Australian pub rock, with a string of hits throughout the 1970s and 1980s, and they are acknowledged as one of the most popular and successful Australian groups of the period, although this success and acclaim was almost completely restricted to Australia.
		Cold Chisel weren't just a band, they were a lifestyle for many of their followers, who were known as some of the roughest in the land.
		Alongside contemporaries Midnight Oil, Cold Chisel was renowned as one of the most dynamic live acts of their day and from early on in their career Cold Chisel concerts routinely became sell-out events.

		A cold chisel is a tool made of tempered steel used for cutting 'cold' metals, meaning that they are not used in conjunction with heating torches, forges, etc. This tool is also commonly referred to by the misnomer 'coal chisel'.
		Because cold chisels are used to form metal, they have a less-acute angle to the sharp portion of the blade than a woodworking chisel.

		The first big impression Cold Chisel made on me was when I saw the Countdown/TV Week Awards on TV in 1981.
		The band won a bunch of awards that year but they didn't like the superficial treatment of Australian rock music by TV Week so they refused to collect the awards and proceeded to put on a classic 'performance'...
		Not long after that the band broke up, I ended up buying all their LP's (except You're Thirteen...but I have held a copy in my hand, couldn't afford the price though), I wore out the Sweethearts LP so I replaced that with the CD, I'll get around to the rest one day.
