ScrapFriends Product Reviews: Hyperion Innovations Inc., Freestyle Portable Bonding Tool
ColdHeat surprised me by not dripping at ALL most of the times I used it, and dripping only the teensiest drop the times that it did.
ColdHeat offers a no-fuss glue gun suitable for any number of crafting and scrapbooking applications, and it will earn its spot on your crafting shelf in no time.
Next, at a quick glance, the ColdHeat cordless gun looks like an ordinary glue gun: nice handle, hole in the back for glue sticks, a barrel that holds a couple of sticks at a time, a nozzle that puts out the glue…but the similarities end there.

Review: ColdHeat Soldering Iron | Applefritter
And indeed, when one reads the features list, the ColdHeat is appealing: it only uses a few AA batteries, has a built-in white LED work light, and the tip heats up and cools down in only a few seconds.
The ColdHeat, which was sold under the Radio Shack brand, cost $19.99 and included the iron, plastic carrying case, and chisel tip.
An immediate problem I saw with the ColdHeat is the placement of the white LED light, meant to illuminate what you're working on.

ColdHeat Glue Gun Review - NewWoodworker.com LLC
The ColdHeat Glue Gun is operated by a small battery pack that plugs into the handle and provides up to 1-½ hours of use, thanks in part to special circuitry that uses that power at a miserly rate.
The ColdHeat Glue Gun automatically changes to a “power save” mode that reduces the power consumption after 8 minutes of inactivity, greatly extending the useable time before a recharge is necessary.
Certainly the ColdHeat Glue Gun is not going to replace the array of adhesives woodworkers use but it does come in very handy when another set of hands are needed for installing small pieces or just temporarily positioning larger ones so they can be secured with screws or brads.

OnlineToolReviews.com - ColdHeat Cordless Glue Gun - Detailed Review
Check with ColdHeat direct to see if they have a compatible power pack for your country if you are outside the USA or Australia.
Depending on how much you use the glue gun, this collection of sticks could last quite a while, and the good thing is that hot melt glue sticks don't really "go off" or have an expiry date, so you can store them for a long time without having to worry about them going bad.
I'll expect we will see more cordless glue guns coming onto the market in the near future, but ColdHeat have produced a nice little unit here that is well worth considering if you want to ditch the cord on your current hot melt glue gun.

ColdHeat™ technology will power a new generation of conventional household products and tools that will be easier to use, safer, and more efficient than available consumer products in the market today.
ColdHeat is making some serious claims about this new glue gun and while we can't imagine what someone would take 1.5 hours to glue together features like this will bode well for the Freestyle if they hold true.

ColdHeat - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
ColdHeat is an American company founded to develop and market products using the proprietary graphite-like compound it has named Athalite.
The composite material is claimed by the manufacturer to have the unusual ability to conduct large amounts of heat and return to room temperature in a short amount of time.
Another issue is that the ColdHeat device causes damage to electronic components due to the high current that flows through the tip as mentioned earlier.

ColdHeat soldering iron - user experience | Applefritter
Now something to make note of, the ColdHeat has a split tip and heats the solder to a melting point by passing a voltage through the split tip when it is shorted out by touching the solder or parts to be joined.
You'll never use a Coldheat for a serious/involved project unless you are a masochist.
You'd have to be desperate to use the ColdHeat -- I'd rather use a nail heated with a blowtorch to solder with.

It is important to use the iron in short increments so you do not burn the solder or the material you are soldering on.
