		Over many years and much hard work, the grounds are the new home of San Jacinto County buildings and they serve their purpose by housing memorabilia, artifacts and papers and stand as a testament to their individual times.
		The depot was moved to Shepherd in the 1950's where it was used as a weigh station for pulpwood and a watering stop for the Houston East and West Texas Railway.
