	San Francisco Stories - your stories
		Cole Valley recently had its first annual "Drinking Progressive." An Evite was sent out to a few hundred of the neighborhood's younger/hipper residents, and the idea is that we all spend an hour or so at a house in the neighborhood drinking its "theme drink" before moving on to the next house together.
		I looked down the street at the shoppers in front of Cole Hardware and the wine place, wondering what their impression was of this now-horde of 100 or so people in their 20's, stumbling down the street in a drunken moving party.
		Cole Valley is not about some snob's fantasy of what an evening could be, it's about the people who work everyday to make it a healthy, viable community.

		Cole Valley may not be one of the city's most bustling tourist destinations, but it makes for a relaxing respite from the Haight, and there are enough attractions for a day's outing.
		Cole Valley Street Festival: Called the Heart of Cole Festival, this free annual celebration, usually held in October, features booths of arts and crafts (most by local artists), food from local eateries, activities for kids and live music.
		Photos of Cole Valley from the early 1900s, when dairies stood where houses and shops are today, hang on the walls in each of the two dining rooms.

		Cole Valley has Alpha Market, Cole Valley Hardware, Cole Valley Fitness, The Video Nook, a great cheese shop, a little tiny fancy soap shop, a good wine store, etc. It has everything a neighbourhood needs to create community.
		But the epicenter of Cole Valley is just a little to the north and a little to the east of all this perfect hub bub.
		Cole Valley is such a delightful neighborhood to live in.

		The Cole Valley Improvement Association newsletter reports that the family that owns Grandeho's has just signed a lease on the Tassajara space at the corner of Parnassus and Cole, and plans to turn it into a Vietnamese restaurant.
		Rarely seen in Cole Valley before June, the parrots are a daily occurrence in the summer, and are rarely seen after September.
		Cole Valley neighbors and Friends of the Urban Forest volunteers wedged 34 new trees into the neighborhood on Saturday, October 3.

	Cole Valley Tree Locations
		Cole Valley has other tree-related items of interest, such as the angel carved from the trunk of a Monterey Cypress at 1591 Shrader, and the hidden garden behind Stanyan Street.
