Schuyler Colfax (March 23, 1823–January 13, 1885) was a Representative from Indiana and the 17th Vice President of the United States.

Colfax was an unsuccessful candidate for renomination in 1872, owing to charges of corruption in connection with the Crédit Mobilier of America scandal.

The purpose of the Colfax Community Network is to advocate for and work on behalf of children and families residing in low-income, transient housing (primarily residential motels) along Colfax Avenue.
It is our goal to create a safe place where children can come to learn and grow, to feel rooted, nurtured and motivated; a place where parents are offered the tools they need to provide for their family's physical and emotional well-being; and a place the community can call its own.
Colfax Avenue is a 40-mile four-lane street passing through Denver and its suburbs to the Rocky Mountains.

At the beginning of the march, the organizers told marchers that they (the organizers) had not obtained a permit and that they had advised that the march must stay on the sidewalks and obey traffic signals.
When the marchers reached Colfax, marshals (volunteers) directed the crowd to cross Colfax and go west on the sidewalk on the south side of the street.

The 10th Avenue parking structure is attached to UCH but expensive if you are going to be there for more than a couple hours.
