Colin McLeod was a complete horseman whose expertise gained him renown and recognition both nationally and internationally, in all areas of equestrian endeavour.
Colin McLeod was born in Sydney in the colony of New South Wales in 1893.
In the early 1920's Colin returned to the coast and settled in the Tweed River Valley, N.S.W. where he was self-employed transporting cream from dairy farms in the area to the Murwillumbah factory.

Colin has been tremendously loyal to the club over the years as I'm sure he could have played at a higher level or could have gone to a more successful Northern League Club.
Earlier in the game Colin McLeod had celebrated the occasion of his 500th appearance for Consett by giving the Steelmen the lead three minutes after half time.

COLIN McLEOD, one of Edinburgh district’s foremost rugby officials and a former provincial player, has died suddenly.
McLeod, who was in his early 60s, was chairman of selectors when Edinburgh completed a "hat-trick" of Scottish domestic titles from 1986-88.
"Fundamental to Colin’s team building skill was his sense of loyalty which I was grateful for when a rival came over from abroad to challenge for my place," said former British Lion Kenny Milne.

In a real piece of bad luck, Peter was involved in a car accident while giving Andy and Stephen a lift to the event - luckily all three, and their newly purchased Ford Explorer, were fine - but they decided not to come along after the ordeal.
