Collective bargaining - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Other writers have emphasised the conflict resolution aspects of collective bargaining, but in Britain the most important refinement was that made by Allan Flanders, who defined it as a process of rule-making, leading to joint regulation in industry.
In Britain collective bargaining has been, and has been endorsed as, the dominant and most appropriate means of regulating workers' terms and conditions of employment, in line with ILO Convention No. 84 for many years.
However, the importance of collective bargaining in Britain and elsewhere in the industrialized world has been declining considerably since the early 1980s.

 Collective Bargaining Agreement
The collective bargaining process having been engaged in in full and in good faith by the parties to this Agreement, it is not their intent to otherwise alter the policies, processes and procedures of the University affecting members of the bargaining unit except as expressly and explicitly provided for in this Agreement.
Consistent with these principles, it is nonetheless the intent of the parties to this Agreement that members of the bargaining unit shall have a recognized role in the academic unit or regional campus of which the member of the bargaining unit is a member of the full-time instructional faculty during the term of his/her appointment.
The affected member of the bargaining unit initiates this stage of the informal resolution process by submitting a written statement to the dean/vice provost, detailing the nature and factual background of the issue to be addressed and the reason(s) why the bargaining unit member disagrees with the determination of the chairperson/director or campus dean.
