 The Adelphi Theatre 1806-1900: The 1861-1862 Season
The Colleen Bawn had an uninterrupted run until 16 November 1862, and was revived at intervals for the next eight months.
However, after the first week, Boucicault was replaced in the role of Salem Scudder by Delman Grace for a fortnight, during which he wrote "a new last act of the drama composed by the public and edited by the author" (playbill, 9 December).
Dion Boucicault, who continued to perform in The Colleen Bawn, was again replaced by Delman Grace in The Octoroon from 24 December to 8 February.

She and Dion would teach a special class—The Making of Collections, Knowledge, and Museums—that would examine the origins and development of Western practices of collecting and exhibiting, with emphasis on the cabinet of curiosities and its impact on the emergence of the public museum.
Dion was in residence one week each month of the semester, and he and Sheehy shared responsibility for leading class discussions and advising the students on their research.

The exhibition Mark Dion: Cabinet of Curiosities--Dion's first project in the Twin Cities and the upper Midwest--is on display from February 24 through May 27, 2001 as part of the University's Sesquicentennial celebration.
Through this fascinating and panoramic display, Dion examines the distinctions between "objective" science and "subjective" art and the logic of classifying systems that shape knowledge and memory.
Dion and Weisman director of education and coordinating curator Colleen Sheehy taught a University class fall semester entitled "The Making of Collections, Knowledge, and Museums." The nine students in the class have become co-curators of the exhibition, researching collections, developing plans for the display, and assisting with the installation of the objects.

Soap Opera Digest reports that Colleen Dion's character will be involved with Ben a very surprising way.
Sounds like Colleen's character won't be the same tired rehash of her past characters on AMC and ATWT.
This is positive news to me at least, I agree Chris it sounds like she will at least be interesting and not a rehash of those awful AMC/ATWT characters she played.

The Irish Rep, that venerable New York custodian of Irish theatrical treasures, is following up its earlier mounting of Dion Boucicault's The Streets of New York, with another of his big "hits" on both sides of the Atlantic -- The Colleen Bawn also known as The Brides of Garryown.
It was written by the prolific playwright-producer-actor in 1860 for the actress Laura Keene who played the feisty heiress Anne Chute while Boucicault took on the role of the melodrama's scoundrel and hero, Myles-na-Coppaleen.
Moore's trick is to use an Irish traveling or "fit-up"show as a frame for the landowners, bureaucrats, and peasants who figure in the ups and downs of the clandestine marriage of Eily O'Connor, the Colleen Bawn, and the son of an impoverished landowner, Hardress Cregan.
