Astfalk, who had been appointed to collect state Act 511 taxes, sued the township over her dismissal which, officials said, was prompted by her failure to collect as much in so-called nuisance taxes as the township thought she should have.
She contended that her removal was based on the Collier Township Democratic Party's refusal to back incumbents Czarnecki, Ducsay and Palombi in the May 2001 primary.
Collier Solicitor Charles Means said it was a coincidence that the Wyatt delinquent tax issue appeared on the same agenda as Astfalk's settlement.
