Colin MacLeod - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
During the war, MacLeod was one of many university-based scientists and physicians who advised the Federal government on medical matters “when asked.” In 1941, he had been appointed Chairman of the Department of Microbiology at New York University (NYU) School of Medicine, and also worked as a consultant to the U.S. Secretary of War.
MacLeod was elected to membership in the National Academy of Sciences in 1955.
MacLeod was the first person to hold the position of deputy director of OST and remained there until 1966, serving as an advisor to President Lyndon B. Johnson after Kennedy's assassination.

This is what a lot of homes will look like when you grow up,'' Collin MacLeod, who with Sunny Cushnie, owns and operates the Great Lakes Dome Co., told some of the children who visited the home during the Thanksgiving weekend.
MacLeod, who has worked for the last decade in the construction industry as a carpenter building traditional style homes, and Cushnie, whose background is as an electrician, decided to join forces to bring Monolithic Domes to Canada.

In fact, Sunny lives in a 2 storey dome and Collin is looking for land upon which to build his.
Their illustrated presentation showed how these ingenious modern buildings are erected: first a large PVC-coated form is inflated, urethane insulation is sprayed on from the inside, a reinforcing steel (rebar) grid is installed, and shotcrete (a kind of concrete) is sprayed on top of all that.
As Sunny and Collin modestly claim: "the monolithic dome is the most environmentally efficient, tornado, hurricane and earthquake resistant, versatile, insect/rodent proof, maintenance-reduced, highly secure, forward-thinking, design-unlimiting, greenhouse gas reducing, fireproof, permanent, long-lived, physically attractive structure encompassing all that is great in ancient archetecture in the world!"....and that's why they build them!

 Rachel
Duncan MacLeod had been banished, his birth-right of Clan leader revoked, and he'd been disowned and discredited by his own father.
And the Clan MacLeod certainly had its share of legends; Connor and Duncan, both clansmen who had been killed in battle; Kanwulf, the Viking destroyer who had a fatal connection with Glenfinnan, all of them men who had risen from the dead to live again.
Their clothes dripping from the morning mist, Robert and Collin MacLeod, brothers and distant cousins of Rachel's, came bursting through, their faces locked in expressions of shock and indignation.

The elucidation of the double helical structure of Deoxyribo-Nucleic Acid (DNA) by James Watson and Francis Crick in 1953 has been a golden land mark leading to current status of molecular biology and genetics.
Its discovery, however, was preceded by scintillating X-ray photographs of crystals of DNA obtained by Rosalind Franklin at King's College, London, and conclusive evidence that DNA is the genetic material by Maclyn McCarty, Oswald Avery and Collin Macleod.
Although the initial response to Watson and Crick structure was lukewarm, it provided the foundation for understanding molecular damage and repair, replication and inheritance of genetic material, and the diversity and evolution of species.
