A JUDGE has been told a schoolgirl, permanently scarred because of the negligence of a fun theme park, may never receive a penny of £10,000 damages awarded against the company, yesterday, as it was not insured.
Colm P Condon, counsel for Julie Anne Cauley, who is now 20, told Judge Peter Smithwick in the Circuit Civil Court that Irish Game Fisheries Ltd, which traded as Clara Lara Fun Park, had no insurance.
When Judge Smithwick asked about the capital value of the theme park, Mr Condon said that as far as he knew the company did not own the facility, and Ms Cauley would probably find herself at the end of a long queue of judgment creditors.

The Prime Time programme, Evidence of the Colonel, says it has established that the original statement of evidence from the late Col Michael Hefferon, director of military intelligence, was heavily edited before it reached the attorney general, Mr Colm Condon SC, to form a key part of the prosecution's case.
Sixteen sections of that statement, according to Prime Time, were removed before an edited version was forwarded to the attorney general and later included in the book of evidence, on which the trial was based.
Mr Condon has told the programme-makers that he never saw the longer version of Col Hefferon's statement.

For indeed I believe in the introductory comment by Goran Paskaljevic, the director of this beautiful film, whose presence together with that of the wonderfully acting Colm Meany was of course also part of an utmost enjoyable cinematographic evening.
Mr Paskaljevic expressed two things during the measured time of the interview.
