		The American Colonization Society, organized in 1817 to resettle African Americans in West Africa, presented its records to the Library of Congress in 1913, 1964, and 1965.
		While spanning the period 1792 to 1964, the majority of the society's correspondence, reports, and financial and business papers date from the years 1823 to 1912.
		Correspondence covers such subjects as administrative matters, the status of slaves and freedman in antebellum America, and the society's role in founding and colonizing Liberia and supporting Liberian education.

	Space Colonization
		For many present-day decision makers, the argument that immediate space colonization may save 10-to-the-60th man-years in the future may not be as persuasive as an argument that space colonization can solve problems of the moment and that taxpayers and constituents will be benefitted now or in the near future.
		Colonization can provide a greater potential population and all of the advantages that that entails.
		A method has emerged for the efficient colonization of space which can be implemented quickly, economically, and in addition be very tangibly beneficial to man. Gerard K O'Neill, a professor of physics at Princeton, has devoted years to perfecting a design for satellite colonies that would orbit the earth about every 2 or 4 weeks.
