 Colossus
Colossus is Russian Piotr (Peter) Nikolaievitch Rasputin, the super strong X-Men who can turn hi body into a living metal alloy capable of withstanding the worse attacks.
Probably the strongest X-Men ever, Colossus first appeared in the classic Giant-size X-Men #1, published in 1975 along with the new international team that replaced the original students of Professor X. Always a favourite of fans, Colossus is a gentle giant.

Inspired by Bronwen's "Which Superhero Are You?" link, I mentioned in the comments section that I could write quite a bit about how comics (in particular Marvel) over the last 5-10 years have taken on a decidedly leftist tone in their storytelling.
Co-created by another leftist comics writer, Warren Ellis, The Authority is a radical's comic come true: A team of wildly powerful beings impose their world order on the entire planet, and guess what sort of "order" it is? Yep -- that of a typical protestor at an anti-WTO rally.
There are moments in these stories that have become powerful images from comics history, such as the scales falling from Hal Jordan’s eyes in the first issue, or the revelation involving Ollie’s ward Roy “Speedy” Harper.

Whatever the case, the films have taken a different approach- Grey apparently was aware of the oncoming Phoenix Force and sacrificed her life at the close of the second film in order to end the battle being waged in her head between the Phoenix and her mind.
In the comics, the Brotherhood was not unlike the faction of a cult leader, a small caliban of sinister associates that ballooned with his growing influence, as he developed his own space station and became far more than just an Evil Mutant.
In the comics, though, he was a hot-blooded, emotional character- looks like they’re ditching that here, as his occasional comic book paramour Kitty Pryde is being utilized in another romantic situation (though maybe they will be using the Ultimate comics version, where the now-gay man of metal is smitten with Wolverine).

 Shadow of the Colossus Review
Getting to the colossus usualy i'sent a big deal, their may be an instance where you'll need to climb a cliff or navigate through the woods but other then that, it's more or less a straight shot.
These beasts are huge, easily the size of skyscrapers when compared to your hero, the challenge is solving the puzzle to first mount the beast, then climbing it, to destroy it with your sword.
Overall Shadow of the Colossus is a truly amazing game that will be talked about 10 years from now, with it's amazing graphics, incredible story and truly original design.

World Famous Comics >> Tony's Online Tips - Tony Isabella, May 08, 2006
Colossus returns to Russia because his few remaining relatives are being murdered by the mysterious Pale Man. Prior to his trip, Piotr "Peter" Nikolaievitch Rasputin painted a nightmarish portrait of himself as a brutish version of his armored identity.
As I see it, making Colossus a descendant of *the* Rasputin is as dumb an idea as when John Byrne decided Flint Marko (the Sandman) and Norman Osborn has to be related because they both had bad Steve Ditko-drawn hair.
Given the now-inescapable knowledge that Colossus is related to *the* Rasputin and the entire "crazy evil guy living on in minds of his descendants" situation, Hine did some okay stuff with his silly premise.

Starting with that box of old "Dell" Disney comics at Grandma's house when I was a kid in the 1960's, I've been a reader and collector of comic books for pretty much my entire life.
At this stage of my life I'm not particularly interested in reading these comics, rather I'm more interested in appreciating the lurid artistic appeal of the covers and the overall nostalgic aura of the books (and, as I tell my wife, maintaining them as a non-401K investment).
I will be presenting these comics here, as I acquire them, as a reference to others who might be similarly interested in a wide variety of wonderful old comics.
