| | Temple Point, Colton (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-15) |
 | | In terms of area, one of the larger sites that York Archaeological Trust has dealt with recently was that at Colton, near Leeds, excavated in the summer of 2002. |
 | | Bounded on one side by the busy A1/M1 link road and on the other by the expanding conurbation, the site was excavated in two areas, the smaller of which revealed features relating only to the modern period. |
 | | A small number of stone artefacts of the Mesolithic (10,0004,000 BC) and Neolithic (4,0002,200 BC) periods were recovered from the Colton site, but the earliest features related to the Bronze Age. |
