		Columbia Township is a civil township in Van Buren County in the U.S. state of Michigan.
		In the township the population is spread out with 27.9% under the age of 18, 7.0% from 18 to 24, 28.3% from 25 to 44, 24.6% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who are 65 years of age or older.
		The median income for a household in the township is $34,389, and the median income for a family is $39,583.

		Was born in Knox county, Ohio, April 3, 1847, and in the fall of 1851 came to this county, and has resided on his present farm of eighty acres ever since.
		He was married in Jefferson county, Iowa, in 1842, to Miss Rosanna Lamb, a native of Wayne county, Indiana, but a resident of Iowa, her father coming here the same year and same time that the subject of this sketch came.

		The landscape of Van Buren County was formed by the complex action of the Lake Michigan Lobe of the Wisconsin glacial ice sheet.
		Everywhere in southwest Michigan bedrock units slope gently to the center of the Basin.
		The oldest bedrock units underlie the glacial deposits in Berrien and Cass Counties, and the rocks immediately underlying the glacial sediments are progressively younger towards the center of the basin.

		David Allen Carlson, who recently moved to Bangor from Onekama, was found dead Friday by his hunting partner, who owns the Columbia Township land where the tree stand was placed, the Kalamazoo Gazette reported Sunday.

		Andrew was not found in the 1900 Federal Census, but his wife Abigail was found living in Columbia Township, Van Buren County.

		In May, 1835 Rev. Jonathan N. Hinckley and Barnard M. Howard, both from Monroe Co., NY, visited the region now known as Columbia Township, then unorganized territory attached to Cass county, and purchased several tracts of land in the immediate vicinity of the present village of Breedsville.
		Blueberries and fruit such as apples, cherries, and peaches are abundant in the township.
		Although lumbering was the principal occupation of the people in earlier years, most of the lumber has been taken, leaving several nice woods in the township which keep the deer at a high number.
