 Our Emblem
The larger letters "C," representing Christ; "S," the Squires; and "K," the Knights of Columbus by whom the Squires program is sponsored, are intertwined in the center of the cross.
Squires are organized into units or groups called "circles" which are sponsored by either a Knights of Columbus council or assembly.
The other officers are: deputy chief squire, notary and bursar who are elected each June, and the marshal, sentry, arm captain and pole captain who are all appointed by the chief squire.

 About the Knights
The purpose of the Squires program is to develop young men as Catholic leaders who understand their religion, who have a strong commitment to the Church and who are ready, willing and capable of living their lives in the manner of the youth Christ.
If a squire is to be a leader, he must, to the degree that he is able, be given the opportunity to lead.
The Squires is an athletic team, a youth group, a social club, a cultural and civic improvement association, a management training program and a spiritual awareness course all rolled into one.

Squires membership numbers 11,000 young men in 368 circles; first circle is established in Cuba: San Christobal de la Havana Circle 312 in Havana, sponsored by Council 1390.
Squires from circles as far away as North Carolina and Missouri joined Knights and Pope John Paul II at the Aqueduct in New York for a papal Mass sponsored by the Knights of Columbus and the Diocese of Brooklyn.
