The science section at the Columbus Dispatch has from its staff writer Mike Lafferty (that’s he in the pic) today a good, localized roundup on avian flu worldwide, starting with the surprise that no infected, migratory birds have yet shown up in the US including along the Lake Erie shore.
Equally interesting is the number of guest-written pieces in the Dispatch’s science coverage.
One can only assume that determination to get science to its readers is the Dispatch’s prime motivation.
