Comanche County, in central Texas, is bounded on the south by Mills County, on the west by Brown County, on the north by Eastland County and on the east by Hamilton and Eastland counties.
The population of the county dropped accordingly from 27,186 in 1910 to 25,748 in 1920 and to 18,748 in 1930.
Comanche County produced 129,305 bushels of sorghum, 95,234 bushels of wheat, and 37,910 bushels of corn.

F. Collier built the first log house in the county in 1855, and in 1856 the Texas legislature formed Comanche County from Coryell and Bosque counties; Cora was designated as the county seat.
The county's continued economic growth did not by any means inoculate local farmers against the many problems afflicting American farmers during the late nineteenth century, however, and in fact the People's (or Populist) party
grew powerful in Comanche County politics during the 1890s; in the 1898 election, the Populist slate won a number of county offices.

 Ted's Indian Arrowheads and Artifacts from Comanche County, Texas
All of my hunting activity has been in Comanche County Texas where there has been an abundance of Indian artifacts to be found on the surface of the ground in the fields and along the draws in the pastures.
I am retired now and have moved back to Comanche County where I still hunt for artifacts when conditions are right.
These knives are sometimes referred to here in Texas as "Snakehead" Haraheys because of their appearance.

Simpson was told by the Brown County Humane Society that she had to many dogs to properly care for and that she had to clean her operation up.
The Brown County Sheriff Department, Brown County Humane Society and ATDR return to the Simpson property and confiscated all the remaining dogs in her possession.
All Texas Dachshund Rescue and The Humane Society of Austin say the animals were being bred and housed in a cramped and dirty home in a town about three hours north of Austin.
