		It was registered in 1993, and has sent a large lorry to the Romanian mining town of Comanesti every May and October since 1990.
		Comanesti is a town of about 25,000 people, situated about 200 miles north of Bucharest.

	Floods in Comanesti
		There was risk of more severe danger earlier today as a dam further up-river was expected to break and if it had done predictions were that the Mayor's Offices and the blocks of apartments near it (one of which I live in) would have been destroyed by the amount of water descending upon the town.
		The Mayor of Comanesti was on national TV via a phone link today and he said that there is danger that the supporting walls of the river Trotus have been damaged by the excess amount of water that has breached them and got behind and under them.
		Towards the end of his TV interview, the Mayor of Comanesti went on to say that if we get more rainfall and flooding similar to that which we've just experienced, people will refer to this town as being the place where Comanesti used to be.

		A strong blow was heard yesterday morning in the area of the Comanesti city, in Bacau County, but authorities were unable to explain what caused the sound that was heard from tens of kilometers around the town.
		Comanesti Mayor Viorel Miron said he believed the blow was a result of the activity of the nearby mining exploitation, but the checks revealed that was not true, as the mining companies said the explosion was not caused by them.
		The head of the police in the nearby town of Moinesti, Gelu Margina, also said the mining or the oil exploitation in the area did not announce any incidents.

	Habitat for Humanity ROMANIA
		1st of July 2006 represents the beginning of the third project of Habitat for Humanity Comanesti.
		With this project, 5 new houses will be built this year on the land owned by the homeowners, and 40 apartments will be renovated and rehabilitated thermically in Comanesti.
		The affiliate Habitat for Humanity Comanesti built 4 new houses last year and, after the flooding caused by the Trotus Valley, 154 homes were renovated.
