	Rock the Casbah - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		"Rock the Casbah", one of the most popular songs by The Clash, was released on their 1982 album Combat Rock.
		"Rock the Casbah" originated when the band's manager, after hearing them record an inordinately long track for the album, asked them facetiously "does everything have to be as long as this raga?" (referring to the Indian musical style known for its length).
		It has been reported that "Rock the Casbah" was an unofficial anthem for the American army during the first Gulf War (the line about dropping "bombs between the minarets" being particularly relevant).

		Combat rock is a great little crag for Loveland climbers (I know, there are mostly old farts in Loveland, but some of us are climbers none the less).
		There are about 10 routes in the area, and most of them are 2 and 3 pitch climbs on the main rock, all with easy walk off over the top of the crag, and back down either side.
		You will soon be able to see the rock on the left side of the road, and the parking area is directly across from the main area (less than 1 mile up the road).

		This is Mick Jones' original mix for the album that became Combat Rock.
		Track seven from Combat Rock, Overpowered By Funk, is not present here and was apparently added to Combat Rock at the last minute (an instrumental version exists on Clash On Broadway Outtakes and an extended remix is on Golden Bullets).
		They also seem to be a bit slower as well, but only a touch, and that may have something to do with the mix of the song that just affects how fast it seems to go, and not simply faster playing.
