Upon first seeing Walt’s mystery car, I had thought "It really does look like an old caboose." But then I noticed that the car had no end ladders and no roof walks, and that made me think that it might be just an old combine car after all.
Since the underbody and trucks of the mystery car are not visible in the photo, I chose to guess at the width of a side-window.
And could it be “8005?” With its side-number mostly obscured by snow, glare, and the roofline of the car in front of it, the ancient OandW mystery car seems determined to hang on to the secret of its identity.

NHTSA Grants Nissan Petition to Combine Car Fleets under CAFE   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-15)
The pending change prompted the company to ask NHTSA's permission to combine its domestic and import passenger car fleets in order to ensure their compliance with fuel efficiency standards.
In its analysis, NHTSA found that granting the petition would likely help to keep some parts-manufacturing jobs from going overseas, which could have happened if Nissan were forced to reduce the domestic content of the Sentra in order to have it reclassified as an import to gain CAFE compliance for its import fleet.
With the petition granted, Nissan can combine its fuel-efficient Mexican-made model with its less fuel-efficient models to create a single fleet that is more likely to meet the CAFE standard.
