Comercial Mexicana is a Mexican hypermarket group, which features stores similar to those owned by Wal-Mart in the United States or Carrefour in France.
It is part of the Controladora Comercial Mexicana Group which also owns the local Costco warehouse franchise and Restaurantes California.
Comercial Mexicana has different retail formats, with the general stores branded as Comercial Mexicana, the larger stores as Mega Comercial Mexicana and its smaller facilities as Bodega Comercial Mexicana.

 Mexican Retailer Comerci to Delist US Shares
Comerci has more than 250 supermarkets and restaurants, but has been hit in recent years by fierce competition from market heavyweight Wal-Mart de Mexico.
Comerci (MCM.N) said on Friday its global depositary receipts will be delisted from the New York Stock Exchange on Nov. 3 and investors will have the option to exchange them for its shares in Mexico (COMERCIUBC.MX).
The company, whose full name is Controladora Comercial Mexicana, said it was making the move because 99.7 percent of trading in its shares is done in the Mexican market.

On the new Mega front, I Googled Mega, Comercial Mexicana and Costco, and they are all part of the same corporation, though the Mega supermarkets are considered hypermarkets and are larger than Comercial Mexicana supermarkets.
Comercial Mexicana stores are aimed at middle to upper income customers, Sumesas are aimed at upper middle to upper incomes, Bodegas are aimed at lower incomes (like Wal-Mart's lower-end Bodega Aurrera stores), and Megas are aimed at mixed incomes.
The Comercial Mexicana store now has giant orange signs announcing "MEGA." I guess they're not using the Comercial Mexicana sign as their primary identification now.

The discounter, based in Troy, Mich., will sell its Mexican joint venture company to Controladora Comercial Mexicana, S.A de C.V. Mexico's second largest retail chain, for $148.5 million.
The joint venture had been operated with El Puerto de Liverpool, S.A de C.V. "We are refocusing our operations to our traditional U.S. Kmart stores," a company spokeswoman said.
