Comixpedia - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Comixpedia is an online magazine that provides coverage of the new medium of webcomics.
Comixpedia has featured cover art from leading creators including Scott McCloud, Cayetano "Cat" Garza, Jeff Rowland, Mike Krahulik, Bill Mudron, Christopher Baldwin, Jon Morris, and Kazu Kibuishi.
Comixpedia.org, also known simply as Comixpedia, is a sister project to the Comixpedia online magazine.

Well, one shortcoming of being in the Comixpedia staff is that I always feel I shouldn't ask or suggest that my own mystery comic, The Jaded be reviewed because it wouldn't be good journalism.
On another note, most of you should notice that the current theme over at Comixpedia is Mystery comics, which alone should tell you why I asked for recommendations to Mystery-themed comics last post.
Comixpedia has a raging debate going on as the indignant community rush to defend themselves.

 Websnark: The Comixpedia Shuffle
Of particular note so far is Alexander Danner's Guide to Collaboration and this month's Modern Humor Authority strip, penned as always by Kristofer Straub, has me weep with the beauty that it evokes in my turgid soul.
It's really weird when sites like Comixpedia use a hard-defined font size for links and emphasis, because I (with my bad vision) have my default fonts set larger than normal...and the emphasized bits come out all teeny.
Comment from: Kristofer Straub posted at May 16, 2005 04:00 AM I have my fonts set to normal size with my good vision, and the links are all tiny.

COMICON.com: Wang of Steel, Server of Kleenex
So Penny Arcade seems to have inadvertantly slain another server (or in the vernacular, "wanged"); Comixpedia had a review of their site and Tycho put a link to it on their front page.
At their best guess, Comixpedia's server got overwhelmed by said link and they're now trying to repair the damage by switching to a new server.
I've been mulling over the idea of writing a piece for Comixpedia about this phenomenon (popular comic links to smaller comic for one reason for good or for ill and smaller comic's server/bandwidth costs go *boom*); I suppose now's as good a time as any to start.

 Websnark: The Comixpedia Shuffle....
It's another month, and that means a new "issue" of Comixpedia.
On the other hand, this is my third column, which supposedly is the magical point where I go from being "some guy who writes a column for Comixpedia" to "Contributing Columnist," and that's just damn cool because it makes me sound like I should be working out of a newsroom exposing corruption.
Plus, it was a chance to talk about A Softer World, Sinister Bedfellows, and the fact that they're not nearly as similar as they appear, and that's just plain fun.

One thing I toyed with earlier in the year that I could return to is this idea: Everyone who wants to play in the survey puts a Comixpedia counter on their site for a week to give me data on their sites.
Well one thing I threw out over at Comixpedia was the tracker idea but it would be for a one week period, maybe once every quarter (4 times a year).
A variation on this would be to let Keen and MT run the tracker for their comics themselves and Comixpedia would host it for the rest of the world.

The response to that challenge is Comixpedia So far, Comixpedia looks promising (despite their very sad decision to represent all of webcomics with a potato icon on their homepage).
Hopefully the editors of Comixpedia will take it upon themselves to create controversy, shun mediocrity, and point out hidden gems to us when they find them.
It is kinda disappointing for them to have chosen one minor (if well-loved) character from one strip to be the icon for all the webcomics articles, but it's not so bad as if they'd chosen a potato.

This appeared in Comixpedia's "webcomics and politics" issue, for which I also drew the cover.
I was a senior in college when Olympia's major (well, sort of) newspaper sent an intern to interview me. The quotes are sort of paraphrases of what I actually said, and the author, J.D. Stanek, actually managed to misspell the name of my strip, but it's generally accurate otherwise.
