Windows lets you remap the Windows key because there are keyboards that don't have it, not because they anticipate you spilling liquids on that particular key.
I'm saying that in that case, the Windows key can actually be used the same way the Command key is usually used on a Mac.
We just got the latest issue of MacWorld magazine in the mail, and apparently there is a way to remap the Command key.

I miss my old WallStreet's one-finger FKeys, which didn't require you to press the 'fn' key to use the keys as function keys (I use Keyboard Maestro to launch apps, etc).
