Commando (video game) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Commando (戦場の狼/Senjou no Ookami [Battlefield Wolf]) is a vertically-scrolling shoot 'em up released in 1985.
Despite what one might think, the game is not licensed from the Arnold Schwarzenegger movie of the same name, but is probably named after it.
Bionic Commando ("Top Secret: Hitoraa no fukkatsu" in Japan) has no relation to this game, despite what the North American NES version might suggest with its subplot involving a mission to rescue Super Joe from captivity.

Video game character - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A only video game character is a fictional character appearing in a video game or computer game.
In the early days of gaming, most characters were little more than generic figures with little in the way of personality, depth, or likability.
The first game character to gain massive popularity was Mario in the 1980s.

Throughout the stages of the game, there are a variety of environments (outdoors, in a castle, in a Japanese temple, on a battlefield, etc.), and each one varies from the others in colors and textures, thus avoiding the color overload that can happen with Quake or some other games.
Documentation for this game was par for the course.
I loved the game, and still play it regularly, especially the latter stages such as the Conquistadors and Modern Wars, both of which are filled with a good deal of swashbuckling, cool weapons, and lots of fun and interesting locales.

Granny Vinnie Reviews Commando for the Atari 7800
In Commando, you control a lone solider as he infiltrates various enemy camps for the sole purpose of rescuing hostages and casing casualties.
So this kinda makes the game feel like Food Fight...just a bunch of "shucking and jiving." The Commando has a gun with unlimited ammo, which is nice, and this set up can be upgraded to a machine gun on every level.
The game's only weaknesses may be the cartoonish graphics and a few lame sound effects...but other than that this game is nearly flawless.

Commando's 3: Destination Berlin - Video Game Reviews - Gaming Articles
The Commando’s series is a well-known one for its strategy use and well-used 2d animation.
Commandos’ 3 is set in the WWII War, and will be played like you got the world on your shoulders.
The difficulties are ball busting, I haven’t yet seen a game that you will die so quick because of the difficulty and the fact that if one of your commandos dies, you have to start over.

Star Wars: Republic Commando Microsoft Xbox Video Game Review by AceGamez
Star Wars games are not infrequent and recently they've all managed to range from pretty good to outstanding, with Knights of the Old Republic, Jedi Academy, Battlefront, Galaxies and The Sith Lords.
Republic Commando brings a couple of very unique and fantastic features to the table: first of all the controls are nailed perfectly (and you can even remap them and they work just as well).
Republic Commando is superbly fast paced and exciting, to the point where you'll probably feel like you've just begun when really you're almost a quarter of the way through the game.

Star Wars Republic Commando Updated Hands-On With the continued progress of the Star Wars prequel trilogy in full swing and the release of Episode III looming less than a year away, LucasArts is going to great effort to expand Star Wars in the video game sector.
We got to play the Xbox version of the game and also saw the PC version in motion, and while both use comparable graphical assets, the PC game is higher-resolution and ran at a smoother frame rate overall.
The game is slated for a February 2005 release, and the team plans to use the time between now and then to tweak and polish Republic Commando into a more-cohesive final product.
