The day before commencement they did a story entitled “Graduation Speeches 101” that said, “One of the few things more forgettable in life than the graduation speaker is the graduation speech.” This has helped keep me humble.

When I was in your situation, many, many years ago, an undistinguished graduate--barely--of the Naval Academy, I listened to President Eisenhower deliver the commencement address.
But I remember little of his remarks that day, impatient as I was to enjoy the less formal celebrations of graduation, and mindful that given my class standing I would not have the privilege of shaking the President's hand.
