Commentary Magazine's Role in Changing Political Culture (Discovery Blog)
In staking out this ground, we are constantly intrigued by a number of brilliantly edited magazines that look at politics and culture through a religious lens.
Commentary is an example that stands out in this group of magazines because its Jewishness is ethnic as much as religious, and because it has an utterly unique history and record of achievements.
Balint explicitly asserts that "Commentary showed that there is no contradiction between ethnic particularities and participation in the larger culture," and that the path to full participation need not fall into the trap of cultural relativism or "multiculturalism".

  Commentary Magazine - Definition, explanation
Commentary Magazine is a publication of the American Jewish Committee, although the magazine is editorially independent and often takes very different views than the majority of that organization's membership.
The magazine is considered a leading voice of the American Jewish community and the neoconservative movement (though, like the core of the neoconservative movement, Commentary was largely of the political left in its early years).
Commentary is known for its passionate support for Israel, for opposition to any Palestinian state, and for favoring American unilaterist foreign policy.

Commentary is America's premier monthly magazine of ideas, the publication that those who shape public opinion turn to first for in-depth analysis of politics, religion, foreign affairs, social policy, culture, and the arts, as well as for outstanding reviews of current books.
The magazine's letters section is a world-renowned forum for unfettered debate about the most pressing issues of the day.
It is primarily known as the intellectual home of the neoconservative movement, a brand of skeptical thought that emerged as a reaction to the anti-American radicalism of the 1960s, and is today vitally engaged in the preservation and spread of democracy and Western values.

Now, Darwinian theory and its variants are corollaries to the machine-model, and David Berlinski and the editors of Commentary deserve kudos for attacking head-on the notion that the fundamental principle of Darwinian theory is beyond rational dispute.

Yet, what prevents me from giving Commentary a five star rating is that the letters section in the front is too long and also some of the articles inside will only appeal to Jews or those interested in Judaism (although it really is a small percentage of the magazine that is devoted to religious concerns).
Commentary, on the other hand, was always there to remind us that Arafat and his gang were a bunch of thugs whose intent was simply to incite and sacrifice other Arabs.
While Commentary did give plenty of space (which was used quite well) for rebuttals to Berlinksi, I think it is a horrible fl mark on this magazine that it published such stuff in the first place.

Even if he was mistaken about the man's title for the magazine and it was the editor, there is no way Neal Kozodoy was bumming around with this guy and his agent.
Not Chosen also claims that the "owner" of Commentary remarked about how there was a non-Jew working in one of the Jewish Magazines, which would be an odd thing for him to bring up, because there are plenty of non-Jews who work for Commentary.

Libertarian Magazine Endorses Global Taxes -- Cliff Kincaid -- GOPUSA
Yet, the libertarian magazine Reason has astonished many observers by publishing an article that seems to be endorsing global taxes and the world government such a scheme would entail.
But it's hard to see how any of this could be "easily administered and monitored." Indeed, such a scheme sanctions governmental control of peoples' lives, under the guise of regulating their use of energy, and threatens the sovereignty of nations.
It is amazing that Reason, a magazine of "free minds and free markets," would publish an article promoting governmental interference, this time at the global level.
