The energy committee of the European Parliament has adopted a report that recommends countries set ambitious targets to increase the share of green heat technologies by 2020.

Pipeline integrity and safety are of critical importance to the public, both to reduce injuries and fatalities from pipeline failures and because of the importance of the products carried—natural gas, liquid products and, increasingly, hydrogen and other energy sources for the future.
A key aspect of industry response to any supply disruption is supply diversity, which provides the opportunity for adjustments to accommodate a sudden drop in supply from any single source.

Following the decision of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) of the European Parliament, on May 30th, to approve a draft report with anti-life amendments, the report will now be presented to the a full Parliamentary session for adoption on next Wednesday June 14th.
The report, by Jerzy Buzek (EPP, Poland), deals with the EU budget for research and technology development, in the Seventh Framework Programme, for the period 2007-2013, was adopted by the ITRE committee, and allows for embryo destruction.
Three other committees, the Women's Rights committee, the Gender Equality Committee and the Legal Affairs Committee had previously condemned the funding of any research that would include the destruction of human embryos and called for respect for the principle of s ubsidiarity when funding controversial technologies that are illegal in many EU Member States.
