IT Web this week reported that UUNet Namibia has signed an agreement with Telecom Namibia to offer a national peering solution to its customers in the local market.
A peering solution is when ISPs link their systems so that local e-mail and internet traffic does not get routed outside the borders of the country, in this case, Namibia, with all communications taking place directly between the ISPs.
"The agreement between UUNet and Telecom Namibia only caters for local traffic inside the country" Werner Kriessbach, acting MD of UUNet Namibia, is quoted as saying.
