The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is a federation of seven emirates established in 1971.
The Government of Dubai Emirate donated a parcel of land in Jebel Ali in 1998 for the construction of a facility to be shared by four Protestant congregations and a Catholic congregation.
Although emirate immigration authorities routinely ask foreigners to declare their religious affiliation, the Government does not collect or analyze this information, and religious affiliation is not a factor in the issuance or renewal of visas or residence permits.

 July Trade Figures Show We Continue to Outpace the World - Media Releases from the Australian Minister for Trade
The Minister of Communications of the United Arab Emirates, HE Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer, and the Australian Minister for Trade, The Hon Mark Vaile MP, signed a bilateral air services agreement today on behalf of the Governments of the United Arab Emirates and Australia.
Emirates, one of the designated airlines of the UAE, is the only designated airline to offer direct services between the two countries.
Currently Emirates offer daily services to Melbourne and four services per week to Sydney and Perth.  The Perth service, which was introduced in August, is the only non-stop service connecting Australia and the Middle East.

It was hosted by the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research.
Jamal Al Suwaidi, the centre’s Director, said hosting the event was another step in implementing the policies of UAE President Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who has stressed the importance of sustaining a sound environment, giving particular attention to promoting the cultivation and preservation of date palms.
