In 1968 they combined with percussionist Jamie Muir and keyboardist Hugh Davies to form the Music Improvisation Company, one of England's seminal free improvisation units.
The label documented MIC's music on the album Music Improvisation Company 1968-1971; the title reflects the group's brief lifespan.
Although the musicians were conversant in jazz styles, the music made by the MIC was essentially and intentionally non-idiomatic, drawing upon any and all elements of musical thought and given voice in the moment.

Free Flying is a psychedelic improvisational voyage to the outer limits of inner space featuring Gary Lucas with the cream of the Czech avant-rock underground, including saxophonist Vratislav Brabenec (Plastic People of the Universe), Mirka Krivankova (premier Czech avant-vocalist), and bassist/producer Richard Mader (UrFaust).
Gary is proud to be able to pay homage to the Boss and is honored to be in such good rockin' company on the album.
Gary invited his pals Larry Love and the Right Reverend D. Wayne Love from the group Alabama 3 to sit-in at his recent sold-out solo show in London at The Spitz.
