User interface markup language - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An user interface markup language is a markup language (often XML) used to define user interfaces.
UIML is the earliest pioneer in user interface markup languages.
Strictly speaking, SVG is not a user interface language, it is a standard that includes support for vector/raster graphics, animation, interaction with the DOM and CSS, embedded media, events and scriptability.

First Steps Towards a Markup Language for Maritime Information
The structure of the markup language is described in terms of XML schemas and DTDs.
The markup language definition is partitioned into different sub-languages, taking into account the source of the ontological knowledge, the use of markup, interdependencies, and expectations for change control.
Markup language vocabulary can be generated in two ways: first, the obvious relationships already inherent in database schemas, object catalogs, and similar collections; and second, through direct markup of carefully selected samples from the `canonical documents' identified in the analysis stage.

A Graphical User Interface Toolkit Approach to Thin-Client Computing
A distributed user interface toolkit applies techniques to the high level components of a toolkit that are similar to those used at a low level in the X Window System.
A user interface toolkit provides an abstraction layer for the low-level drawing and interaction routines made available to programmers by the graphics subsystem that is usually bundled with the operating system.
End users also benefit, since most of the applications they run on a particular operating system will have roughly the same ``look and feel'' because the applications are all built out of components from the same user interface toolkit.

Cover Pages: XML Markup Languages for User Interface Definition
As an abstraction of the user interface we have defined a DTD.
The interface component describes the interaction between the user and the application using a set of abstract parts, events, and method calls that are device and application independent.
The structure describes the organization of the parts in the interface, the style describes the presentation specific properties of each part, the content describes the information that is presented to the user, and the behavior describes user interaction with the interface in a platform-independent manner.

Users also appreciated the convenience of a centralized dashboard for launching applications and receiving alerts for news and messages.
The user is used to instant feedback from a menu, and this must be maintained, both for interactive execution and for download of updated menu content.

UIML - Art History Online Reference and Guide
UIML stands for User Interface Markup Language and is an application of XML to describe user interfaces.
The motivation is to facilitate better tools for creation of user interfaces that work on any platform available today, but which also will allow today's legacy user interfaces to evolve to new forms for use on platforms that are created years from now.
Work started in 1997 to define a canonical meta-language that can describe any user interface in a manner that is device-independent and user interface metaphor independent.

 Right-To-Left Text in Markup Languages
Middle eastern languages such as Hebrew and Arabic are written predominantly right-to-left.
Languages written in left-to-right scripts are often mixed in, so the complete document is bidirectional in nature, a mix of both right-to-left (RTL) and left-to-right (LTR) writing.
Text written in the Hebrew and Arabic languages is often referred to as bidirectional, or "bidi" for short.

Interaction Design Patterns -- maintained by Tom Erickson
This language is "for those, who feel that something is going wrong with their seminars - perhaps they are even frustrated and do not know what to change or what the reasons could be.
Perhaps more importantly, there is no sense of the scope of the general pattern language writing project and therefore no public agenda for future efforts in pattern writing, as the impetus to produce pattern languages arises from either personal or organisational interest in a specific corner of a larger domain.
Interestingly enough, this language is being developed by an extended group, and allows people to register to create candidate patterns, contribute to existing patterns, and send comments to pattern authors.

From this comparison it should be clear that the application areas of these technologies, as presented by their respective proponents, are more-or-less identical.
RDF already has a schema language, called RDF Schema [RDF-Schema], and DAML is an extension of this language.
Based on the comparison of the models we have shown that a schema-independent mapping from RDF to topic maps is impossible, since topic maps are at a higher level of abstraction.

Adware and spyware programs are applications that get installed on an Internet user’s computer that in their most benign form will display unwanted pop-up advertisements, and in the most extreme form, can degrade computer performance, change browser settings, and record keystrokes with the intent of capturing and recording sensitive data.
That is why it is very important that all computer users keep their operating systems up to date by applying new updates as they are released.
These tools help Internet users detect the presence of adware or spyware programs on their computer, assist in the sometimes difficult removal of these programs from their computers, and depending on the program, actively work to prevent the installation of adware and spyware.
