 Technology: How Wikis Work
Many people believe that nobody who is granted read access should be denied write access or wikis lose their power, but there are times when administrators will want to restrict which users are allowed to access a wiki.
Wikis are selected for hosting that are likely to be successful and will appeal to a wide community.

The word wiki is a shorter form of wiki wiki (weekie, weekie) which is from the native language of Hawaii (Hawaiian), where it is commonly used as an adjective to denote something "quick" or "fast" (Hawaiian dictionary).
Originally, most wikis used CamelCase when naming program identifiers, produced by capitalizing words in a phrase and removing the spaces between them (the word "CamelCase" is itself an example of CamelCase).
Wikis are generally designed with the philosophy of making it easy to correct mistakes, rather than making it difficult to make them.

Wikis in the Workplace: How Wikis Can Help Manage Knowledge in Library Reference Services
Wikis encourage incremental knowledge creation, so when a page is created, the content can be partial or incorrect since additional collaborators will edit and add more information to the page.
This wiki is a resource for anyone, but a similar wiki organized around a specific function like this one could be used within an organization as an internal tool as well.

Wikis, it is interesting to note, have also been used as a documentation platform for a number of GNU/Linux distributions.
Old APC wiki sites used in the past both for meetings and project development still serve as important resources for APC's current activities, evaluation, etc. Wikis are great to maintain continuity between what has been planned and what is being worked on.

DDN Articles - Exploring the World of Wikis
Private wikis are most often used for internal communications within a company or organization; only those who are authorized by the administrator can even view the wiki, let alone edit it.
However, creating an in-house wiki requires a person with a significant amount of technical smarts; depending on the wiki engine you choose, a functional knowledge of a programming language such as PHP or Java will be necessary.
Because wikis are inexpensive and relatively easy to use, some nonprofits and educational institutions have found that they're the ideal tool for helping team members or students collaborate more effectively.

Software architecture is the belief that since some sort of diagram representing the software can be drawn after the software has been developed, that same diagram could be drawn before development starts.
If you understand what software is and how it is made and by whom it is made and to whom it is sold, the definition is appropriate.
The software architecture of a program or computing system is the structure or structures of the system, which comprise software components, the externally visible properties of those components, and the relationships among them.
