Music theory is often seen as unnecessary and boring to even the most musically inclined persons.
I took a music theory class in college and used a textbook that tried to say the same things that Miller says, only the textbook was far more confusing.
I never liked learning music theory and simply forced myself to find some fun in it because most of the books out there are boring and hard to understand.
