Compromise of Caspe - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Compromise of Caspe made in 1412 was an act and resolution of parliamentary representatives on behalf of the Kingdoms of Aragon and Valencia and the Principality of Catalonia to resolve the interregnum commenced by the death of King Martin I of Aragon in 1410 without a legitimate heir.
The succession laws of the Aragonese Empire at that time were rather hazy, based more on custom than any specific legislation, and even case law did not exist.
Deliberations between the Parliaments or Diets of Aragón, Valencia and Cataluña were difficult, due to diverging interests, factions of nobility, impatience of the partisans of the Count of Urgel and the intervention of Castilian troops of Ferdinand of Trastamare.

CASP acknowledges that ethical behavior is both the individual responsibility of each member, and the collective responsibility of CASP as an organization, CASP Affiliates, and any CASP sponsored group or function.
He or she is appointed annually by the incoming CASP President, and serves in an advisory capacity to the Board.
Because CASP is not in a position to issue credentials or authorize services, the CASP Ethics Specialist functions in an advisory capacity only, and does not engage in investigations regarding violations of these standards.

Analysis of Responses to the CASP Position Statement Regarding the Reauthorization of IDEA
Background: Following the January CASP Board meeting, the proposed position statement regarding the Reauthorization of IDEA was rewritten, taking into account both written and verbal feedback from board members.
No CASP member who responded had any major concerns, and 16 of 19 responses contained a statement indicating support or agreement with the paper.
A concern expressed by both general and board members involved the issue of whether CASP should take a stand primarily concerned with the welfare of children or the welfare of school psychologists, particularly given the difficult fiscal climate.

 Robertson v. Rodriguez
The civil compromise recited EEI would reimburse the city $1,000 for investigation and enforcement costs, EEI and Robertson's denial of violating the law, and their agreement not to conduct business operations or corporate activities in a residential zone of the City.
With respect to Rodriguez's reliance on the civil compromise in his moving declaration, Robertson contended the document clearly and equivocally illustrated any charge was dissolved by the civil compromise and there was no conviction or fine.
However, he avers that with knowledge of the terms of the civil compromise, Rodriguez could not have printed in good faith the language in the mailer that Robertson was fined for running an illegal business out of his home.

Certainly I or someone else will post the CASP sequences at bioinfo.pl but unless all predictions are collected in one place it will be harder for me as a predictor to make good predictions (or at least I will have to do more work).
It is expected, now that CASP starts a new CAFASP-like track, that some of the servers will avoid the headache of sending predictions to two assessment systems and will quit CAFASP.
I realize that the CASP team is now working under heavy time pressure and it may be impossible to provide this service this time.

NIH Guide: HIGH-ACCURACY PROTEIN STRUCTURE MODELING
Development of high-accuracy computational methods that reliably generate experimental-quality structural models will be essential for capitalizing on the PSI investment, and furthermore will benefit all biomedical researchers relying on structural information of proteins for their functional investigations.
Unlike the rapid advances made in experimental structure determination, progress in computational structure prediction has been incremental as illustrated at the recent CASP (Critical Assessment of Methods for Structure Prediction of Proteins, http://www.forcasp.org) competitions.
Significant improvement of modeling methods is needed to push the modeling coverage to remote homologs of existing structures without much compromise on quality.

Since most multi-agent systems are implemented in Java, this will require extracting a structure that preserves the modal/temporal information from a, potentially complex, Java program.
While our long term objective is to tackle both problems mentioned above, we have chosen to compromise slightly that objective in favour of developing practical tools that can be used in the short term.
As for the first, although the language used to specify properties to be verified with CASP does allow the use of modalities that are appriopriate for mulit-agent systems (in particular the well known BDI modalities) as well as temporal modalities, the problem of interaction between the modal and temporal dimensions has not been tackled.

 Critiquing Research
You then need to ask appropriate critical questions about the way in which the research was conducted.
No research will be perfect, and it is usually a compromise between the ideal, and what is actually practical, but the way it has been carried out will greatly influence its validity, reliability, the extent to which it can be applied to other populations, and ultimately, its trustworthiness, and usefulness for practice.
Whenever you read research you need to do so with a critical view — it is just not safe to assume that because research is published it is therefore safe.
