| | Summer 2001: Bridging the silos: Computer resource sharing in Business and Administrative Services |
 | | Currently BAS maintains a completely decentralized approach to its computer operations, and under this model the largest departments are able to provide dedicated computer and technical support to their immediate departmental staff and constituents. |
 | | The first step was to gather BAS departments into three geographic groups or "Resource Zones" composed of a mixture of departments, some of which have their own resources, and others of which need computer assistance from outside their home department. |
 | | As we continue to implement the resource zone model and gather technical competency information from BAS resources, we are concurrently developing the next module, scheduled for release July 1. |
