 Summer 2001: Bridging the silos: Computer resource sharing in Business and Administrative Services
Currently BAS maintains a completely decentralized approach to its computer operations, and under this model the largest departments are able to provide dedicated computer and technical support to their immediate departmental staff and constituents.
The first step was to gather BAS departments into three geographic groups or "Resource Zones" composed of a mixture of departments, some of which have their own resources, and others of which need computer assistance from outside their home department.
As we continue to implement the resource zone model and gather technical competency information from BAS resources, we are concurrently developing the next module, scheduled for release July 1.
