		Con Air: (Mark Mancina/Trevor Rabin) Directed by first-timer Simon West, a veteran of British music videos, Con Air served as evidence in the mid-1990's that the concept of the "American blockbuster" was indeed truly dumbed down for the masses.
		The problem with Con Air is that the film squandered its only assets; a typecast group of actors is led by a positively bored Nicolas Cage into a series of explosions and other special effects that were as poorly shot as they were improbable.
		For even some steroid-injecting collectors of this genre, Con Air is trash (though, come to think of it, the score would be oddly appropriate to enjoy in the bathroom while you're injecting your buddy in the butt with steroids and suffering subsequent 'roid rage episodes), and there's a distinct reason for it.

		Cyrus was calm, cool, and collected in the face of danger as he led his group of convicts.I have gained a new respect for Malkovich because I was able to see the true range and versatility he brought to the role.
		Another aspect of "Con Air" I enjoyed was the writing because the film was able to tell a story with substance without letting the action take over.
		The special effects in "Con Air" is great that it made me feel as if were part of that flight right along with the convicts.

		Con Air might not exactly be the most thought-provoking motion picture out there, but it's definitely entertaining.

		Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer, whose modus operandi is sensory-overload action movies ("Crimson Tide," "The Rock"), "Con Air" stars Nicolas Cage as Cameron Poe, an ex-Army Ranger hero who is being paroled eight years after killing a man in a brawl while defending his wife's honor.
		"Con Air" is passably entertaining for the first 90 minutes, but after the prisoners shoot their way off the airfield and back into the sky (Poe stays on board to hopefully rescue a guard and a diabetic prisoner -- what a guy), the movie becomes, in quick succession, silly then generic.

		Yeah, Con Air is definitely cool...far cooler, in my humble (but highly educated) opinion, than THE FIFTH ELEMENT (which, despite all of you who have berated me for my review of it, is diminishing in my esteem daily).
		His military training has taught him never to leave a fallen comrade, and in this case the comrades are a diabetic con dying from a lack of insulin and a female guard (and it seems that these cons just don't know how to treat a lady).
		And although CON AIR has its share of explosions and car crashes, they are not what you will talk about the next day; you'll remember the tension created from the interactions of the characters, the brutality, and the sheer intensity of this film.

		So it was with some reservations I sat down to watch Con Air but I can happily report that I was well entertained for the duration of the film.
		Of course the film also has some fine action scenes- one of the best being the point where the cons are forced to crash the plane in Las Vegas with disastrous consequences.
		Well ive watched con air and thought it was a good, compelling action thriller that deserves a bit more credit than the reviews ive read so far.
