Tarlac Provincial Hospital doctors said the spaghetti may have been contaminated with "staphyloccocus", a kind of bacteria that grows in ill-prepared food.

In the Concepcion case, the health department's Bureau of Food and Drugs established the cause of the food poisoning through samples of the spaghetti snacks and fluids of the victims provided by the hospital, Canlas said.

As a result of the aunt's unwitting exhibitionism, the place where the river flowed came to be known as Barrio Darabulbul.
Though popular among Concepcion residents, the origin of Barrio Darabulbul's name is not only "vulgar" but also incorrect, according to historian Lino Dizon.
