 | | Concept cars are made for many reasons, largely the obvious ones - to get a visible, tangible look at a design before production so its feel can be evaluated, possible problems can be foreseen, and, for concept cars shown to the public, so reactions of non-gearheads can be judged. |
 | | Many concept cars have no internal workings; Chrysler is rather unusual in that most of theirs actually run and can be driven, albeit not on the street. |
 | | The funny thing about driving concept cars, though, is that many are not safe to drive at real speeds, so they have been limited, apparently by making the fluid link between engine and transmission larger, or some other mechanism - we weren't told - so the engine can roar but the car won't move. |
