Topic: Conclusion

Conclusion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In research and experimentation, conclusions are determinations made by studying the results of preeceding work within some methodology (for example the scientific method).
A conclusion is the final section of an essay in which the writer ties together what was presented in the passage, summing up the main point, explaining how the thesis was proven, and successfully closing the discussion.
The conclusion is often the most difficult part of an essay to write, and many writers feel that they have nothing left to say after having presented points proving their thesis in the body of the paper.

 Conclusions
Your conclusion is your chance to have the last word on the subject.
The conclusion allows you to have the final word on the issues you have raised in your paper, to summarize your thoughts, to demonstrate the importance of your ideas, and to propel your reader to a new view of the subject.
Example: In conclusion, Frederick Douglass was, as we have seen, a pioneer in American education, proving that education was a major force for social change with regard to slavery.

Conclusion Validity   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-05)
In many ways, conclusion validity is the most important of the four validity types because it is relevant whenever we are trying to decide if there is a relationship in our observations (and that's one of the most basic aspects of any analysis).
Conclusion validity is the degree to which the conclusion we reach is credible or believable.
Conclusion validity is essentially whether that relationship is a reasonable one or not, given the data.

Finally, the conclusion of your report should also attempt to show ‘what it all means’: the significance of the findings reported and their impact (Weaver and Weaver, 1977).
The conclusion/s presented in a report must be related to, resulting from and justified by the material which appears in the report.
It should report on all the conclusions that the evidence dictates as it is NOT the job of a conclusion to “gloss over conclusions that are puzzling, unpleasant, incomplete or don’t seem to fit into your scheme” (Weaver and Weaver, 1977: 98).

The end of an essay should therefore convey a sense of completeness and closure as well as a sense of the lingering possibilities of the topic, its larger meaning, its implications: the final paragraph should close the discussion without closing it off.
The conclusion might make the new but related point that the novel on the whole suggests that such an integration is (or isn't) possible.

Because the conclusions of the NRC reports differ from our own, and because these reports have been influential in shaping public opinion about the effectiveness and benefits of certain mind-body interventions, we believe it is important to comment on these discrepancies.
The Eppley meta-analysis demonstrated that the distribution of effects was normal, indicating that the positive conclusions reached in studies of TM are not the result of selective reporting, and that the NRC's characterization of researchers who are practitioners of meditation as subjectively biased "devotees" is without merit.
