 Medieval Enthusiasts Form History Buff Group In Concord
Begun this summer by Concord residents Larry and Brenda Tighe, the group of adults and area youth are part of the Society for Creative Anachronism Inc., which is an international organization dedicated to researching and recreating the arts and skills of pre-17th century Europe.
On Wednesday, a group of about eight met in Concord for youth combat practice, which is usually held at the town hall, but if it's nice out, it's held at the playground across the street.
The youth combat practice is held at the Concord Town Hall the first and third Wednesday of every month from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

John Dewey (1859-1952) was born in Burlington and graduated from the University of Vermont in 1879.
That year, Hall left Concord to become the principal of the new teachers' seminary at Phillips Academy in Andover, Massachusetts, then went to the Holmes Plymouth Academy in New Hampshire before returning to Vermont as minister and principal of the Craftsbury Academy in 1840.
