Confess (song) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Her first major record away from the band was a duet with Buddy Clark, with this song on one side and "Love Somebody" on the other.
They were persuaded instead to give the song to a young female singer, who had not, at the time, a single hit: Patti Page.
Page's manager, Jack Rael, succeeded in getting Mercury to let her record the song, but because of a low budget, a second singer could not be hired, so Rael suggested that Page sing the second part as well.

This is evident from the signification of a "song," as meaning acknowledgment and confession from joy of heart, here acknowledgment and confession that the Lord in respect to the Divine Human has all power in the heavens and on earth.
As "psalm" and "song" signify confession from joy of heart, it is said, "joy and gladness therein, confession and the voice of a psalm," "voice of a psalm" meaning song.

Though I confess that this sentiment is more of an ideal than a reality for me, singing this song always gives me that kind of energy.
This song is sort of a combination of a number of songs whose energies I was really looking to capture- "Go Let it Out" by Oasis (particularly the intro), "The Rolling People" by the Verve (especially the guitar solos), Creed's "Higher", and a couple others.

The result is a very polished sound juxtaposed with very rough song fragments, conversations, and studio interruptions which combine to create a very warm, homey feel to the record.
The standout tracks, some of which are the best of their career to date, include "I Confess", "I Got Happy", "My House", and "Never", along with the many unlisted song fragments that are sprinkled throughout the record.
If a song sucked, or if you just couldn't get a version that was any good, you still worked it and put it on the album.

 Calvin College - L.O.F.T.
A song’s tune and text are given by the composer and author, but the musician can alter a song’s tone, tempo, texture, and dynamic level to evoke an appropriate emotion from the congregation and to invite more thoughtful singing.
The biggest danger in leading congregational song with a worship team is the temptation for the team to become the focus of worship, to solicit and then absorb the congregation’s attention rather than re-directing it toward God.
Other short songs, especially folk songs from other lands, are cyclical in nature, and need to be repeated many, many times for them to do their work.

 Snowblind
Snowblind is a song about cocaine addiction (one of the street names for cocaine is "snow" because it is a fine white powder).
The song starts with the line "Mirror mirror on the wall/The face you show me scares me so" as the addict wakes up in the morning after a night of using cocaine feeling afraid of what his addiction is doing to him and seeing the wear of abuse in his own face.
The song ends with a note of hope, however, with the lines "Won't you throw me a lifeline/I'm going down for the third time," recognizing that only with outside help can the addict break free of the terrible cycle.

For the Apostle says (Colossians 3:16): "Teaching and admonishing one another in psalms, hymns and spiritual canticles." Now we should employ nothing in the divine worship, save what is delivered to us on the authority of Scripture.
Hence the use of music in the divine praises is a salutary institution, that the souls of the faint-hearted may be the more incited to devotion.
The soul is distracted from that which is sung by a chant that is employed for the purpose of giving pleasure.

Janeen Webb describes A Song for Arbonne as "a hybrid, a meta-fantasy bred from the root stock of nineteenth century historical romance, and crossed with late twentieth century cynicism about the politics of art, sexuality, and religion." Read the paper in the scholarship section.
