		"Confessions" isn't per se a wham episode, for instance, but it does have some very sharp turns, and it's an extremely intense episode on a par with "Believers." It makes no compromises and takes no prisoners, and I imagine it'll stir up about as much debate as did "Believers," if not more.
		Well, it's about TIME somebody noticed that little exchange in "Confessions and Lamentations." Sometimes I stick stuff so obviously in the foreground that I'm afraid it's going to be too blatant, and then nobody seems to notice it, looking instead at the tiny stuff in the background.
		Unfortunately, all I can say for now is that it is significant to Delenn's character and growth, and her sense of being special, and called into the religious caste.

		The only time this leitmotif varies is in what we call the "Drafa theme", heard in "Confessions and Lamentations", when Delenn asks John to let her go into the Markab quarantine area to nurse the sick and dying.
		Although the Drafa theme in "Confessions and Lamentations" was not played in the final episode, that situation had its symmetry to "Z'ha'dum", with Delenn going to die among the plague victims and John going to Z'ha'dum to meet his own fateful destiny.
		Whether that being was in truth Valen, or was a Vorlon presenting himself/herself to Delenn as Valen, the effect of this transcendent experience on Delenn was tremendous, and was to shape her entire life as she willingly came to offer herself as the One Who Is in fulfillment of his prophecies.

	DIVERSE UNIVERSE
		"Confessions and Lamentations" is an episode that is challenging to watch because of the gritty nature of the material.
		The course of true love never runs smooth, and during this episode, we discover through Susan's metaphoric "coming out" confession exactly why she has been both attracted to Talia Winters and simultaneously repulsed by these feelings.
		Her "coming out" as a latent telepath is handled sensitively, tastefully and with a great deal of empathy towards those who struggle to "come out" in another real-life way.

	[B5JMS] Thanks for good writing
		After I'd got over the are you insane bit I really thought there must be something to this B5 program so on checking the TV guide later I found the UK scifi channel were showing it every weekday.
		So I started watching, it was Confessions and Lamentations, which I thought was OK and carried on watching of course it wasn't long until season 3 and then that's it, youre hooked and then blown completely away.
		I'd long since given up on good continuity Scifi TV or even TV in general and this was on hell of a blast of fresh air.
