Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen is presented in two aspect ratios: its original 1.85:1 widescreen theatrical ratio (enhanced for 16x9 televisions) and a 1.33:1 reformat job to fill 4x3 television sets.
"Confessions from the Set" (6:25) is a superficial on-location featurette, where we see the filmmakers working on a few scenes from the film and cast and crew dishing out praise for one another.
Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen doesn't garner a recommendation as a film, and its DVD special features are as breezy and shallow as the movie itself.

Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004) - Ninth Symphony Films Review
Technical aspects of the film, including the hyper pop-infused soundtrack, are presented with a young audience in mind, with the final sequences of dances during the school musical hitting the high note in the film.
Though all of the characters are played with intelligence by each of the actors, one cannot help but feel the lead protagonist (if indeed Lola can be labeled as such, given her propensity toward annoying the people around her) deserves a good boot in the ass to correct her selfish attitude.
Perhaps the title of "Drama Queen" is too fitting a title for the film, as viewers might find too little humor given the lack of attitude adjustment and appreciation for life shown by the lead character.

Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, all together, was a well-put film that truly entertained me (and just about everyone else in the theatre).
Besides being humorous, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen also managed to make me tear a little bit, as Lola's and Ella's friendship was shown.

Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen (2004)
Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen is just a hair above the deluge of teen-girl movies we've seen lately, along the lines of Chasing Liberty, The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Sleepover, A Cinderella Story, and all the others that begin to blur together.
The target audience isn't teenage girls; it's adult women who were once drama geeks themselves and pre-teens who are madly in love with the theater, admittedly too small a cross-section of society to turn a film into a blockbuster.
Drama Queen is weaker, but Lohan's performance is strong, stronger even than her attempt at guessing what a 45-year-old feels in Freaky Friday.

SCREEN IT! ARTISTIC REVIEW: CONFESSIONS OF A TEENAGE DRAMA QUEEN
Comedy: A teenager who's prone to over-dramatizing her life must deal with moving to a new home and school as well as the break-up of her favorite rock 'n roll band.
The result is that many are labeled as "drama queens." Such is the case with Lola Cep, a 15-year-old who believes that her life is ruined when she moves from Manhattan to suburban New Jersey only to have her favorite rock 'n roll band break up at the same time.
One might expect that the resultant film in which she appears, "Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen," would be an insightful and funny look at such a mindset.

Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen has little or nothing to interest those who have passed the legal driving age.
We see just enough of the real world to put the heroine in context without losing the fairy-tale gushiness of her life, and the teenage traumas on-screen were clearly reaching the intended crowd (though the loudest laughs actually came from the mothers, who perhaps have heard Lola's long-suffering moans a few times before).

Tucked into the middle of Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen is a charming sequence in which two girls from New Jersey (Linsay Lohan and Alison Pill) try to go to a rock concert in New York and have their illusions broken, then restored, and then broken, just a bit, again.
"Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen" is every bit as bad as its title; it's so bad that it makes it much easier for me to understand why the subsеquеnt and somewhat similar "Mean Girls" has been raved about sо much.
The soundtrack is also horrendous (although I suppose that's rather fitting), and there's no compelling drama--in other wоrds, there's nothing to make you give a damn about the movie.

The Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen soundtrack is a complete non-starter for Lindsay Lohan's aspirations as the next Hilary Duff (= actress as part-time rock star, starting with a movie soundtrack's mini-entry point).
That whole 15-tune soundtrack was impeccably pieced together as a loud and plenty-distorted guitar-pop collection, with big gimme-five high points by the Halo Friendlies (a forgettable Southern Calif girl rock band covering "Me vs. the World," originally written and recorded by an utterly obscure recent Canadian retro new wave-y band.
Only weeks later did I notice the common thread between Lindsay Lohan's golden one-shot rock moment "Ultimate" and the Cleary track—both were written (and the Nikki C. track even produced and entirely one-man-band played) by New York City Canadian transplant Jeff Coplan, formerly with the Berman Brothers recording crew, of Amber-Real McCoy-Baha Men fame.
